July 2026 Newsletter

Dear Brethren,

It seems like each month flies by more and more quickly. I want to thank you all for your love, prayers, encouragement, and support. This truly is our work. Without you, the things that are accomplished for the Lord here in Thailand would not get done. Thank you for being a part of this work.

Dad is doing well. He continues to get stronger. He still has weakness on his right side since his last mini-stroke. He is also having some swelling in his feet, especially his right foot. He is using a walker and doing very well with it. His doctor wants to do another CT scan in late September. I told him that since he is going to stay for that, he could stay into October for our Bible school and Youth Camp. That way, he will be able to visit with the brethren from Singapore that he has not seen for years. He is excited to see them and visit with them.

We have a new congregation at Payao.  We have two students going to the University of Payao. One of them is a Christian, so we have begun having worship services there. It has been a little difficult adding a worship service there… because it is in the opposite direction from our other congregations. I have been taking over the duty there. I leave my house at 6:30 a.m. and go pick up the students at Ratjaphat University, which is in Maerim. Pick up a few more brethren and then go to the farm.  I teach Bible class and preach in Chiang Mai. First, we take the Ratjaphat students home.  After that, we drive an hour and a half to Phrao and worship there. From there, we drive two and a half hours to Payao and worship. Then we drive back to Chiang Mai. I usually get back to my house between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. We still cover all of the other places we have been taking care of as well.

We have two students going to the University of Payao.

We spent time giving scholarships to several schools in our area. We started this kind of scholarship this year. It is not as inclusive as we are with our other students. It is less money and given at the beginning of each term.  The students who receive these scholarships are picked by the teachers. This gives us contact with schools, teachers, students, and families. We want to find a way to have more of an impact where we are located in Chiang Mai. This also gives us recognition in the community and a lot of goodwill.

Each year at Maejo University, they welcome their new students. The students go on a long walk through the community and then come back to the University. Many groups bring food and snacks to give to the students. Maejo University is about 5 kilometers from the farm. We have participated in this event for the last three years. This year we have two of our students who will be attending Maejo University. It is a great way to meet people in our community and build goodwill. We bought 8 basket loads of snacks

As you will see from the pictures, the buildings are not finished yet. It has been a huge headache for me. The one we needed finished is the one with three VIP rooms in it. I have been assured that it will be finished… last Friday! Ha Ha! It was not. We have bought furniture for the three VIP rooms already. We have had to move the delivery time twice already. We are trying to rearrange things. We are having a Bible school starting July 10^th.  Our first visitor is coming on July 3^rd. In addition to that, the upgrading of the electricity that was supposed to take three weeks three months ago is still not finished. We are getting closer, and I have hopes that it will all be up and running for our Bible school in July. They are supposed to be installing our meter today and opening the electricity tomorrow. Then there is only one more step. Running an electrical line from the new transformer to each of the buildings.
